The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the 2023 sequel to Breath of the Wild and one of the most ambitious open-world games on Switch. Its headline mechanic — building vehicles and contraptions with Zonai devices — gives it hundreds of hours of emergent play.

Digital vs physical: the real trade-off
There is no "definitive edition" with extra story content, so the choice is purely convenience vs resale value. Digital is best if your Switch storage is fine and you hate swapping cartridges. Physical wins if you plan to trade it in later — Nintendo games hold value unusually well.
Is the download worth the storage?
TOTK is a big install. If you're on a 64 GB base Switch, you'll want a microSD card regardless. Factor that into the "cheapest" math if you must buy storage to fit it.
